AbstractP 084 Visual performance of bilateral implantation of two different multifocal lenses Gierek-Ciaciura S., Cwalina L., Pierzchala A., Mrukwa-Kominek E. Department of Ophthalmology, Medical University of Silesia, Katowice Objective: To compare clinical outcomes of two patients groups after cataract surgery and combined implantation of AMO Rezoom (NXG1) and AMO Tecnis (ZM900) in the first group and Acrysof Restor (SA60D3) in the second group, respectively. Methods: 30 patients (60 eyes) divided for two groups were bilaterally implanted after cataract phacoemulsification. Exclusion criteria were preoperative astigmatism >1.5D, age more than 70 years and concomitant eye diseases besides cataract. Post-op evaluation included anterior and posterior chamber examination, uncorrected and best-spectacle corrected far and near visual acuity, autorefractometry, intraocular pressure, contrast sensitivity function (CSV-1000E, Vector Vision) and Vf-14 test for quality of vision. Results: Both groups achieved an excellent far and near vision with minimal glare complaints. The satisfaction degree evaluated with VF-14 questionnaire was either very well. Conclusions: Technique mix & match present a successful concept for living without glasses after cataract surgery. Combination of different multifocal IOL minimizes disadvantages of implantation only one type of multifocal lens. Accurate patients selection is necessary to obtain satisfying results.
