AbstractSO.20.03 Uveitis and Sarcoidosis Zierhut M. Department of Ophthalmology, University of Tuebingen Objective: Sarcoidosis is a systemic disorder of unknown origin. Proof of disease is the finding of a non-caseating epitheloid granuloma, without histology a classification has been difficult. Methods: Update reporting about nomenclature, pathogenesis, clinical findings, differential diagnosis and therapy of uveitis, induced by sarcoidosis. Results: At the beginning the results of the 1. international Workshops on ocular Sarcoidosis (Tokyo October 2006) will be presented, which established criteria for a classification of uveitic findings regarding sarcoidosis, when no biopsy is available. Clinical findings, which sometimes are nearly pathognomonic for sarcoid, followed by an update of diagnostic procedures and new aspects for the therapy of sarcoid uveitis will be presented. After differential diagnostic aspects, a list of the ten most important problems in sarcoid uveitis will be discussed. Conclusions: Due to a new nomenclature, a more consequent diagnostic procedure and extended therapeutic regimens, uveitis in sarcoid can be identified more easily and treated more succesfully.
