AbstractP 085 New innovative intraocular lens for combined phaco vitrectomy Nawrocki J., Michalewski J., Michalewska Z., Nawrocka Z. Klinika Okulistyczna "Jasne Blonia", Lodz, Poland Objective: To present the lens 59 RET from firma AcriTEC in clinical use. The concept of the lens requires its implantation behind the anterior and posterior capsule of the lens. It is designed to be appropriate for both silicone and salt solution filling of the eye. Methods: Clear cornea phacoemulsification with implantation of IOL was performed. Subsequently vitreous surgery was performed. During vitrectomy posterior capsule was opened with diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the IOL. The IOL was pushed behind the posterior capsule. Indication for vitrectomy was proliferative diabetic retinopathy and PVR retinal detachment. Results: Very good visualization of the posterior eye segment was achieved during both core and peripheral vitrectomy. Small differences in postoperative refraction with or without silicone oil tamponade were achieved. Conclusions: Preliminary data show that the 59 RET IOL may be very useful concept for combined surgery.
