AbstractP 083 Bacterial endophthalmitis prophylaxis after cataract surgery Gierek-Lapinska A., Pasternak A., Mrukwa-Kominek E., Gierek-Ciaciura S.
Department of Ophthalmology, Silesian School of Medicine Katowice Objective: To determinate the incidence of postoperative endophthalmitis after cataract surgery and investigate efficiacy of levofloxacin prophylaxis for bacterial endophthalmitis.
Conclusions: Application povidone-iodine and levofloxacin is effective prophylaxis for bacterial endophtalmitis after cataract surgery. Application of levofloxacin decrease risk severe complications of intraocular surgery.
