Bacterial endophthalmitis prophylaxis after cataract surgery

Objective: To determinate the incidence of postoperative endophthalmitis after cataract surgery and investigate efficiacy of levofloxacin prophylaxis for bacterial endophthalmitis.
Conclusions: Application povidone-iodine and levofloxacin is effective prophylaxis for bacterial endophtalmitis after cataract surgery. Application of levofloxacin decrease risk severe complications of intraocular surgery.
