The opportunity of research hyperopia correction with using of LASEK and refractive lens exchange (clear lens extraction)

Objective: The opportunity of research hyperopia correction with using of LASEK and refractive lens exchange (clear lens extraction).
Methods: Under our observation there were 204 patients (360 eyes) with hyperopia of an average and high degree - from +3,0 dpt up to +9,0 dpt. The men was 101, women - 103. The age of the patients has made 18-49 years. The patients with high astigmatism in the given observation did not include. Excimer laser correction by LASEK with mythomicin C application was made to 92 patients (168 eyes) with using Shwind Keratom MultiScan (Germany). Hyperopia of an average degree was on 98 eyes (58,3%), high degree - on 70 eyes (41,7%). Refractive lens exchange (clear lens extraction) carried out at 112 patients (192 eyes) with using Harmony Total DORC and AcrySof (Alcon, USA) IOLs implantation. Hyperopia of an average degree was on 83 eyes (43,2%), high degree - on 109 eyes (56,8%). Complications during operations in afteroperation period was not observed.
Results: All patients has improved visual acuity. At dynamic supervision (maximal term till 5 years) we have noted absence of recourse of the achieved result at the patients after refractive lens exchange. Secondary cataract formation was marked on 42 eyes (21,9%), which was successfully eliminated by YAG laser capsulotomy. In group of the patients, which the correction of sight was carried by LASEK , in cases with hyperopia of an average degree the recourse of the achieved result in time has made observation till 5 years 22,4% (22 eyes), in group of the patients with hyperopia of a high degree - 58,6% (41 eyes).
Conclusions: Results of dynamic observation for operated patients it is possible to make a conclusion that optimal method of high degree hyperopia correction is refractive lens exchange (clear lens extraction). For average degree hyperopia correction refractive lens exchange (clear lens extraction) and LASEK can be use depends from a patients choice.
